The Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch No. 5 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 750ml

The Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch No. 5 is a distinguished single malt Scotch whisky from the Speyside region, crafted by the Balvenie Distillery, renowned for its traditional methods and commitment to quality. This limited-edition release is a marriage of 29 casks, including 10 ex-bourbon barrels, 8 sherry hogsheads, 3 refill American oak casks, and 8 sherry butts, all selected by Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE. The casks were combined in the Tun 1509, a traditional oak marrying vessel, allowing the whiskies to mingle and develop a harmonious profile. Bottled at 52.6% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and free from artificial coloring. 

On the nose, the Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch No. 5 offers a rich and intensely fruity aroma, with notes of chocolate, toffee, blood orange, berries, and a blend of soft spices such as ginger and cardamom. The palate presents a creamy mouthfeel, featuring flavors of treacle with cinnamon icing, cocoa, berries in cream, dark fruits with a hint of orange, roasted walnuts, oak, and subtle hints of ginger and clove. The finish is long, with spiced dark fruit, dark chocolate, and drying spices. 

The bottle is presented in a classic design that reflects the distillery's heritage, with a traditional label and a sturdy glass construction. Each release is limited to a few thousand bottles worldwide, making it a coveted addition to any whisky collection.
