Description

Shibui 18-Year-Old Sherry Cask Single Grain Whisky is a distinguished Japanese spirit distilled from premium Indica long-grain rice at the Kumesen Distillery in Okinawa, established in 1952. This whisky matures for 18 years in refill ex-Fino and Manzanilla sherry casks, imparting a bright, translucent sunflower yellow hue. 

On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet with earthy and beefy notes, hints of broth, mushrooms, subtle cardamom, and a pleasant oakiness. The palate is balanced, featuring baking spices, grapefruit, kiwi, and orange peel, complemented by linseed oil, lemon polish, oiled leather, and toasted marshmallow. The finish is long, with lingering spices, dried fruits, and a touch of oak.
