Nikka Yoichi Non Peated 750ml

Nikka Yoichi Non-Peated Single Malt is a distinctive Japanese whisky released in 2021 as part of the "Nikka Discovery" series, which explores unique variations in the whisky-making process leading up to Nikka's 90th anniversary in 2024. 

Traditionally known for its peated expressions, the Yoichi Distillery crafted this limited edition to showcase the depth and complexity achievable without peat. On the nose, it presents aromatic notes of fresh orange peel, orange blossoms, toasted barley, and yeasty bread, complemented by gentle oak. The palate is medium-full, offering a spicy sensation with white pepper, followed by a mildly bitter and tangy finish that reveals sweet notes of white peaches and white chocolate. 

Established in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru, the Yoichi Distillery is renowned for its traditional methods, including direct coal-fired distillation, which imparts a distinctive character to its whiskies. This non-peated expression reflects the distillery's innovative spirit and commitment to craftsmanship.

Bottled at 47% ABV in a 750ml format, Nikka Yoichi Non-Peated Single Malt is non-chill filtered, preserving its natural flavors and texture. With only 20,000 bottles released, it stands as a testament to Nikka's dedication to exploring the diverse possibilities within whisky production.
