Kentucky Owl Bourbon Confiscated

Kentucky Owl Confiscated is a distinguished Kentucky straight bourbon that pays homage to the brand's storied past. Founded in 1879 by C.M. Dedman, the distillery faced a significant setback when, just before Prohibition, the government seized its entire stock of bourbon. This event led to the brand's closure and the loss of its prized barrels. Revived in 2014 by Dixon Dedman, C.M. Dedman's great-great-grandson, Kentucky Owl has since released several acclaimed expressions. Confiscated, introduced in April 2019, is the first offering from Kentucky Owl to be available in all 50 U.S. states. 

The 750ml bottle of Kentucky Owl Confiscated features a classic design with a rich amber hue, reflecting its maturation. The label's understated elegance highlights the bourbon's heritage and quality.

On the nose, Confiscated presents a complex bouquet of aromas, including sweet caramel, roasted grain, clove-like spice, oak, vanilla, biscuits, and touches of pine and dark fruit.  The palate offers a rich mouthfeel with flavors of graham crackers, tobacco, and seasoned oak, leaning towards savory notes. The finish is slightly bitter, turning towards a dry leather note, with cinnamon spice picking up later, bringing a satisfying pop of spice, and aged oak capping it off.
