In 2009, Barrett introduced Stewart to Caroni rum, a distillery that had ceased operations in 2003, leaving behind a cult following among rum enthusiasts. Recognizing the unique potential of Caroni rum casks, Stewart acquired a selection of these barrels, which had previously aged the rum for a decade in Trinidad. In 2014, he decided to transfer 20-year-old Balvenie whisky into these casks for an extended finishing period, resulting in a harmonious fusion of flavors. 

Bottled at 48% ABV, The Balvenie 27 Year Old – A Rare Discovery from Distant Shores is presented in a classic design that reflects the distillery's heritage.
